Below are the ‘standard’ models that I produce. Each of these can be customized to fit your personal tastes and compliment your playing style. Joel Parlor

Parlor: The acoustic guitar has always been an intimate instrument. The trend for guitar design for the first half of the 20th century has been for larger instruments with greater projection and volume. The ‘parlor’ term has been used to describe small body guitars that were typical of the standard Martin ‘0’ and ‘00’ of the early 1900s. Parlor guitars produce a warm, rich tone, which makes them especially popular among finger-style players. The Joel Parlor Guitar is an between a 000 and an 00 body size and combines features of Martin and Gibson models made in the 1920's and 1930's. Options available include cutaway, your choice of 12 or 14 frets to the body, slotted head, alternative woods for back/sides, top and bindings.

Joel 000

000: The 000 size guitar comes from the vintage Martin 1930's era. These guitars produced a rich full spectrum of tone and are very versatile for any playing style with playing comfort as an added advantage. The Joel 000 Guitar is modeled after the Martin OM of the 1930's. Options available include cutaway, your choice of 12 or 14 frets to the body, slotted head, alternative woods for back/sides, top and bindings.

Joel Small Jumbo

Small Jumbo: “Jumbo” size acoustic guitars generally have lower bouts in the 17” range and relatively deep bodies, and are designed for volume and projection. The Joel Small Jumbo features a 16" lower bout and is designed to have the quicker response and tonal character of 000 with the punch of a dreadnought. The guitar pictured is with the optional cutaway, optional flamed Black Walnut back/sides and fret board extension.

When I recieved my Joel guitar I was as excited as a kid on Christmas. I tore open the packaging and was pleasantly surprised at the way it looks. I carefuly inspected the crafstmanship and was totaly impressed at the way it was constructed. Now for the real test, how does it play? Oh my! I was delighted at the way it played, but when I heard that sound I knew I had struck gold.This baby is a keeper. I have owned and played many fine guitars but would have to rate my Joel guitar as equal to the very best in both sound and appearance. Hats off to Joel for making such a fine guitar!

Joel, After a bit of a delay, one day to be exact, I got the guitar (Small Jumbo) today at work. Fortunately it has been slow this week so I was able to take it out right away and play it.

First off, I was impressed with the workmanship. I know you were quick to point out the flaws, and I commend you for that, but the quality far outweighs the tiny finish flaws....
With a quick tune and strum I was taken. The bass was prominent and had a somewhat Gibson-like thump. Very cool. The whole tone of the guitar reminded me of my Advanced Jumbo at home, and I can't wait to get it home to A-B compare them.

I have owned a Taylor 414, and this guitar really did not compare. Kind of like two different animals. The Taylor had crystalline highs and even lows, like I guess all Taylors do. This guitar had a much woodier tone, like a boutique guitar should....All in all, I couldn't be more pleased with the guitar, and really feel as if I got a steal with the price....Keep on Buildin'

Joel, First of all you’re not getting this one back. I took it to my son’s house and gave it a workout he has a Taylor 514 yours was better. He can’t believe how easily it plays and how comfortable it is. Combination of the 12fret design and your OM size is just a little smaller then my other OM and feels better. I was looking at his Taylor case next to mine they are identical. That was a great deal. Thanks for building a keeper.
