Building guitars is my passion. I love every aspect of my work from the initial concept, design, selection of materials, each step of the construction of the instrument and finally, the set up and the anxious moment of hearing the first notes.
I began building guitars in the summer of 2004 after attending the American School of Lutherie. Charles Fox’s mastery of lutherie and teaching helped me to immediately begin creating great looking and great sounding guitars. I am also a member of the Guild of American Lutherie and spend considerable time keeping abreast of literature available on the craft.
I build guitars one at a time and each instrument is conceived to have particular ‘sound’ that I desire, or what I feel the customer is seeking. All of my instruments are built to perform to the highest possible standards.
My interest in lutherie was born from my love of playing guitar and life long fascination with string instruments. I have been a professional musician most of my life and currently perform with various groups in the Flathead valley in northwest Montana.
As a player, I place high demands on my instruments and have rarely been completely satisfied with guitars I have played. My goal is that every guitar that I build is one that I would love to play, and my hope is that what appeals to me will to appeal to others.
